See Through Solar Panels
With the ever growing need for energy scientists are coming up new ways to fulfill the energy requirements of the masses. In these ways there is no doubt that environmental friendly and renewable sources of energy are the best kind there is, one of these sources is the solar energy, a company called Oxford photoviltaics has come with a new idea to create greener energy for our buildings. Apparently they spray a coat of transparent solid-state solar cells at most three microns thick to conventional glass, in order to turn around 12% of the solar energy received into low-carbon electricity. The power can then be used by the building itself or sent to the power lines.
This idea is really effective for buildings that have a full glass body and good access to light as it can drastically reduce the energy bill and result in a greener environment. The coats are also available in different colours, hence the beauty of the buildings can remain intact. The different shades of the coat do affect the efficiency of the solar cells as the black colour is most efficient and the blue is least but if positioned correctly they can be more useful than the conventional glass used in buildings.
