LED Lights Photography – Lonely Soul

Today’s photo is submitted by S A Khan. The dramatic effect of this photo compelled me to post it and photographer was kind enough to allow me to do so. The picture tells a story of a lonely girl who just found out the bitter truth, but its not too late and ultimately it has enlightened her surroundings.

Talking about the details of image, you just need some LED lights, camera (obviously) and a tripod stand for camera. The subject is tied up with a colourful LED lights strip that is the only source of light in this picture, with no external flash being used. A pile of LED strip lights is placed behind to model to illuminate the scenario. The setup includes only a tripod and a camera with a kit lens of 18-55 mm focal length, facing towards the model. Since the image is captured in dark and we don’t want it to be too grainy, that is we need to reduced the noise level. So, to achieve that, ISO is kept low and shutter speed is lowered to 5-7 seconds.

The EXIF of this particular photo is as follows:

Camera Model: NIKON D3100
Exposure time: 6 seconds
Exposure bias: +0.3 step
ISO: 400
F-stop: f/5.6
Exposure Program: Manual
Metering mode: Pattern
Focal Length: 55 mm

The only thing that distracts in me in this picture is the table in the bottom-right corner and personally I would like a wider frame for this picture. I would rate this click 7 out of 10.
I hope you guys liked this LED Lights Photography concept. Its not perfect, but fascinating enough to catch your attention. All credit goes to S A Khan for this exceptional work!
